Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

Addressing Policy Compliance

Organisations are increasingly under pressure to address policy compliance. Security professionals must not only protect the business they serve from internal and external threats – but at the same time satisfy business requirements and comply with auditors’ demands for proof that the business is measuring up to multiple regulations. Now, when budgets are under heightened pressure, clarity of vision is key.

Traditional policy compliance solutions are painful, costly and cumbersome to deploy, costing hundreds of pounds per device and bringing heavy deployment and maintenance charges, causing organisations to scrimp on their compliance efforts. The new QualysGuard Security and Compliance suite slashes the costs and complexity associated with policy compliance management. It allows users to have the entire IT security and compliance posture of their organisation at their fingertips, by business unit or asset group, at a cost they can afford, using one single solution delivered via the browser. New metrics reporting – based on scorecards and secure collaborative report distribution – means that operational staff as well as executive management have a crystal clear vision of the current state of security across their organisation.

“Accurate measurement is essential for effective security management,” says John Meakin, Group Head of Information Security for Standard Chartered Bank. “ This latest innovation from Qualys is a major leap forward towards achieving fully integrated vulnerability and compliance management across our widely distributed network.”

Organisations can now not only scan their network for vulnerabilities, but also automatically identify any system that is out of compliance, whether it is vulnerable to an attack, improperly configured or violating an internal policy or external regulation. Better still, as it leverages Qualys well-established software-as-a-service model, the new suite requires no infrastructure to maintain or manage. Customers can immediately take advantage of the state-of-the-art QualysGuard platform without installing any new software.
