The Embraer Lineage 1000 ultra-large business jet has been very successful in the Middle East region with several firm orders from clients, such as Aamer Abdul Jalil Al Fahim and Al Jaber Aviation.
The Middle East region continues to thrive as one of today's most significant business aviation markets. We were glad to see the great acceptance for our Lineage 1000 jets,” said Luís Carlos Affonso, Embraer EVP, Executive Jets. “We displayed our complete Executive Jets portfolio at the Dubai Air Show, and visitors were able to see for the first time in the region the cabin mock-up of the Lineage 1000.”
During the 2007 Dubai Air Show, November 11-15, Embraer disclosed the first customer to receive a Lineage 1000. Aamer Abdul Jalil Al Fahim will take delivery of his jet in the second half of 2008. The aircraft will be based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and will be operated for private use.
The company recently signed with Al Jaber Aviation for five Lineage 1000 jets to be used for on-demand charter service. Al Jaber Aviation also placed options on another two Lineage 1000s. The total value of the agreement, including the two Legacy 600s with the option for an additional one, at list price, was US$ 265.57 million, and can reach US$ 376.88 million, if all options are exercised.
“We have been carefully assessing which would be the best airplanes to support our development,” said Mohammed Obaid Al Jaber, Al Jaber Aviation CEO. “The main criteria we had were the comfort provided to our customers and the jets’ overall performance. After several months of evaluation, the Lineage 1000 and the Legacy 600 are clearly the best choice.”
“We are especially honored by the confidence Al Jaber Aviation has placed in us by choosing our jets to expand its fleet. This large order for Embraer Executive Jets in the Middle East is a strong indication that our products are meeting customer expectations in this region,” said Affonso.
Designed with comfort and luxury as top priorities, the Lineage 1000 can be configured to accommodate up to 19 people in a total cabin volume of 4,085 cubic feet (115.7 cubic meters). The flexible interior offers five distinct privacy zones, as many as three lavatories, and an available stand-up shower. Throughout the aircraft each room was designed with specific objectives in mind, and appointed to fit all travelers’ needs. As an example, the lounge area with its Wi-Fi environment and office communication amenities accoutrements and arrangement allow ultimate productivity or complete relaxation.
In this moment, the first and the second Lineage 1000 are being outfitted at PATS Aircraft Completions, a division of DeCrane Aerospace, located in Georgetown, Del., United States. Embraer is utilizing the integrated solutions of DeCrane Aerospace for almost the entire cabin interior. PATS Aircraft will perform all aspects of the completion by using the highend products of DeCrane, including seating, furniture, wood veneer, IFE systems, cabin management systems and more.
The total baggage capacity is 476 cubic feet (13.5 cubic meters). A large, pressurized aft baggage area, which is conveniently accessible during flight, is more than twice the size of baggage compartments in competitive jets. The highly-integrated avionics Primus Epic suite by Honeywell comes with five Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) multifunction control screens, Cursor Control Device (CCD), auto-throttle, weather radar with turbulence detection, fly-by-wire, and other cutting-edge technologies.
The Lineage 1000 is powered by two efficient, reliable and easy-to-maintain GE CF34-0E7
engines, with 18,500 pounds of thrust each. Its range with eight passengers will be 4,200 nautical miles (4,833 miles or 7,778 km) with NBAA IFR reserves and 200 nm alternate. The airplane has great airport performance, maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82, and is capable of flying at 41,000 feet (12,497 meters). These characteristics will allow customers to fly nonstop from London (UK) to New York (USA), or anywhere in Europe and Middle East; from Moscow (Russia) to Tokyo (Japan), Quebec (Canada), or anywhere in the Middle East; from New York to Paris (France), Brasília (Brazil), or anywhere in North America; from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Beijing (China), Bangkok (Thailand), or anywhere in Europe, Africa and the Middle East; from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Tokyo, Johannesburg (South Africa), Rabat (Morocco), or anywhere in Europe and Middle East, at a lower operational cost and ultimate comfort.
For all its new technology and considerably luxury, the Lineage 1000 is the latest of a long line of proven jets. Strengthened by the stern demands of commercial aviation, the Lineage 1000 retains its ancestors’ quick turnaround and high-utilization engineering – as evidenced in literally million of flight hours – without sacrificing executive jet performance.
Thanks to modern design tools and a dedicated, worldwide service network, the Lineage 1000 takes this record of readiness even higher. Training tailored especially for private jet crews ensures smooth operation. All of which makes the Lineage 1000 not only an ultimate luxury, but an ultimately wise decision.
Priced at US$ 42.95 million, based on January 2006 economic conditions, in the baseline configuration, for FAA certification, the Lineage 1000 is expected to enter service in the second half of 2008.
